hau...they need not even study...bas ek GC holder se shaadi karo aur ud jao USA ko... :(

off topic: why do many girls do BE/MCA etc and then prefer to sit at home? they subsidies/reservation they enjoyed during their studies can be better used for needy girls or guys...just a passing thot...

hey Uzzie, I never said that. 1 woman getting reservation automatically means someone (maybe a man?) is not getting a seat. educating oneselves highly and then not doing anything to help the economy or the govt. is just plain bad.

thats why women who enjoy reservation in seats (and/or subsidy) esp in professional courses should work and contribute to society. enjoying all those facilities, depriving another of a seat, and then sitting at home is criminal.

BE/BTech/MCA is not needed to be a housewife.

as regards dorwy, educating oneselves just to get rebate/discount in dowry speaks low of the society. its hardly a tool to counter dowry menace...

Why u guys are so biased towards gals? i know many boys who want to marry educated gals to tell other people that she is eng/doc and who don't want her to leave home and do job ! For women not to do jobs males are equally responsible they won't help her.. ask all these boasting males how many of them help their wives in household works?

how u people expect that a woman can do job and see home ? i see lots of gals not doing jobs only because or their husband or in laws wish ...these people r not criminal CAD?

U mean that taking dowry is a great thing but anything to reduce that is not good right ? I don't think that is the case no parents think and allow her daughter to read so that they can get less load for dowry. They let her because they want her to be independent but after marriage lot depends on husband and in laws.

regarding reservations ...i m against all reservations but who told u that some is deprived of the seat and is being taken by gals ? Is doing eng/medical are fundamental rights of males who told that it is a male seat or females seat ? who is eligible is taking that seat ...

Maybe taking the thread offtrack with this...but since this was brought up..

Any kind of reservation is unfair on deserving people. If you really want to help the downtrodden classes, provide them with good education at low cost...maybe even free. Give them good facilities so that they can evolve into better people allround...and then let them compete in a market of equals.

And talking about the topic, I feel that such issues need to be handled on individual merits and demerits. Don't think that any thumb rule would prove true here. Neither is every girl the same and nor is every job. So whenever you're faced with a situation where you have to choose one between the two, compare the pros and cons of both and decide for yourself.

i am not...i give n expect equality :D
justforfun wrote:i know many boys who want to marry educated gals to tell other people that she is eng/doc and who don't want her to leave home and do job !
ya...these pricks do exist but why marry them in first place? there is a wonderful word called 'NO'...whats use being highly educated if a lady cant use it?
justforfun wrote:...ask all these boasting males how many of them help their wives in household works?
ya, many dont but many do too...
justforfun wrote:i see lots of gals not doing jobs only because or their husband or in laws wish ...these people r not criminal CAD?
...again why marry those guys...look for a guy who encourages wife's career.
justforfun wrote:U mean that taking dowry is a great thing but anything to reduce that is not good right ?
i never said that. i said this is a bad measure to eradicate dowry.
justforfun wrote:I don't think that is the case no parents think and allow her daughter to read so that they can get less load for dowry.
that happens...i've seen it first hand. girls as well as their moms saying openly that the girl does MCA/BE whatever to avoid dowry.
justforfun wrote:They let her because they want her to be independent but after marriage lot depends on husband and in laws
thats happnes too..but again...i dont wanna repeat myself.
justforfun wrote:who told u that some is deprived of the seat and is being taken by gals ?
some 33% seat is reserved for ladies, even if they might get lower marks than a man in EAMCET. this is good to promote education among girls, but the entire purpose is defeated if the girl avails the reservation n sits at home after graduation. public money down the drain too.
justforfun wrote:Is doing eng/medical are fundamental rights of males
never said that
justforfun wrote:who told that it is a male seat or females seat ?
the goventment did..
justforfun wrote: who is eligible is taking that seat ...
not always...first there is caste reservations and then the ladies reservation. merit comes last.

i have nothing against housewives or girls doing professional courses...but to be housewives, is it needed to be an engineer and avail of all reservations n subsidies?

like i said let those girls enter thru general quota. thats it. the gist.

May b u r leaving in America and u don't know that even now girls wish is least priority in arranged marriages, even though they r educated they have to learn to compromise. they can say no but again than either they have to wait till they get old or find some lula lagda and marry and if she is lucky may be she has to wait till she finds some good man ...

CtrlAltDel wrote:again why marry those guys...look for a guy who encourages wife's career.

there r people but rare to find ...

CtrlAltDel wrote:that happens...i've seen it first hand. girls as well as their moms saying openly that the girl does MCA/BE whatever to avoid dowry.

there r people who thnks like that but not many ...
and what u think MCA/BE are not giving dowry may be u havnt attended any marriages in south ..whatever may be he case u need to give dowry.. and it hardly matters...For dump indians always gals face whether she is beautiful or not comes and than dowry and than education comes...Can u give me any example where gal is not average( by looks ) but highly educated any any guy marries her without any dowry because of her education ...

CtrlAltDel wrote:thats happnes too..but again...i dont wanna repeat myself.

don't repeat ur self but understand one thing family is not built with mans sacrifices only by womens. and only and only if husband is supportive she can do good in her career or otherwise she had to leave family to make career...

either u oppse all reservations systems or not. What u think these SCST people who get into medical knows anything after becoming doc or engineers ? Why ban on them not at that time they r playing with human lives is ur gov money is not going in to drain and people lives also?
And one thing i tell u, if u don't know if a woman is educated even she is doc/engineer/ MCA whatever and doing nothing she can raise her kids better than any normal housewives and teach them also.

I m not saying gals had to take prof courses and sit idle in home they should try to do some job but at that time family support also come in to picture.so don't blame only gals ..

So u want them to do prof course but through general quota why these doesn't apply to SC/ST/backward classes?

u r telling of subsidies why all engineers are doing s/w courses and MBAS and doing marketing of soaps ? are they worth of subsidies and government money to be a seller or go to US and be a servant of some other country ?
