Right to Information Act - It's NOW or NEVER

by Vishrasayan » Fri Sep 01, 2006 11:37 pm

have you always had a grudging liking for the super-idealistic protagonists in the films of 70s & 80s – did the sheer sense of dejection behind the act of violence in RDB cause stiff lumps in your throat? When your NRI buddy says India is doomed, do you still get defensive – read through…….

have you heard of Right to Information Act 2005 - if you haven't, feel free to ease into the portal below and learn about it;

http://www.rti.gov.in/

this is the closest ever Indian public administration will get to transparency ! – cynical??... impressed?? - check out the link…

now that it looks like RTI might actually work out, the obnoxiously corrupt indian polity & bureaucracy is burning midnights’ oil to maintain a status quo - there is a silent & strong attempt to quickly water down the efficacy of this bill by making an amendment for limiting/ eliminating access to "File notings" - Now whomsoever has ever seen a government file will know that the top sheet, where notings are made is where the whole story of corruption is scripted! - without the notings the file is mere bull crap !

amazed?? - check below for all the gory details;

folks.... we all hated the corrupt & corruption time and again - have lamented on our country's top slot in this ignominy in various forums, cheered & appreciated films where the hero butchers corrupt officials - we'll its time now to ACT !

let’s not allow this to happen - for once let’s be the architects of our own future - let us protest.... let us make it impossible for these selfish perverts to undermine our only chance of beating corruption !

RTI camps

by Indy » Tue Sep 05, 2006 9:31 am

Hello Friend

Thank you very much for the links provided. I and some other people are starting an all out campaign to encourage more people to join the fight against corruption by properly using the RTI Act tools. Right now I am volunteering my time with AID India but, we want to make sure that all volunteer groups and individuals who feel strongly along these lines should come together and act as one instead of having separate initiatives. We can use all the help we get from people who have filed RTI forms, organized and conducted RTI camps and can volunteer for camps in and around Hyderabad.

If you or anybody else is interested please post a reply or pm me or send me an email at indienbandy@gmail.com

If you have already started taking the intiative and are farther along than us, please let us know so we can join forces with you.

Thanks

Indy
