The Angrez is full of the authentic 'old city flavour' and created this cult following among Hyderabadi people all over the world. I bet all the people who have seen the movie or the you-tube clips may never forget who Salim Pheku, Ismail Bhai and Jhangir were. Most people remember the dialogues in the first viewing itself.. I have watched the videos on you-tube zillion times and I still find them to be funny every time. "pachhis saal se charminar pe baithava hoon' 'Andar aao na salim'.. 'kya ismail bhai parso aapku angrezan khundal khundal ke mare kate na'.. :)))

Although there were many films about the Hyderabadi people and dialect, THE ANGREZ truly stands out. It very nicely captures the innocence of Hyderabad and the rich culture and presents it in a funny and hilarious way. None other movie was able to do that in a manner as successful as it did. With the dialoges like "parsun kya ladaai hui maalum? chindiyaan ladaai hui" and menitoning Famous Icecreams as "mashoor ice cream" and POISON scent and Taj Krishna's Blanket Hall, leave you rolling on the floor..



Truly a movie that can be termed to depict the funny,smart,innocent and the cozy nature of Hyderabad and its ever lazy inhabitants. ;)
