Recently I have gone through a painful episode in Mysore Palace. Karnataka, India.
Actually there are two Museums.
The main one is called
(GOVT OF KARNATAKA PALACE BOARD MYSORE) Rs20/- entry
Another one the less important, called by name
MAHARAJA RESIDENTIAL MUSEUM MYSORE, Rs 20 entry.
You have to deposit your Camera at the entry Gate itself. They say photography is prohibited.
Few days ago we went to both museums.
I deposited my camera at the entry.
Unfortunately the only mistake I made was, I did not switch off my camera phone.
While I was seeing the old exhibits at MAHARAJA RESIDENTIAL MUSEUM MYSORE, one phone call came to me.
Suddenly the guard/ in charge of that room came rushing towards me.
He, without permission pulled my phone, and started behaving in low grade and rough manner.
He said I had taken photos.
He threatened me that he will hand me over to the Karnataka police.
I argued with him that I have not taken any photos.
I checked my Nokia 6600 Model, and took one photo himself.
All of a sudden a gang of employees surrounded me.
There were heated arguments.
Somehow my tour bus operator rescued me, that too after giving unnecessary warning to me.
I request all tourists to be careful with these lowly paid palace guards, whom I consider as scoundrels.
They know how to harass the tourist.
Now a day I think with the camera phones, every body should be very careful.
I request you to all to pass your comments too.
