Make driving in the city a pleasure

Hi,

This is a spin off from one of my replies to the volunteers needed mails.

My friends and I are trying to mobilize a group to control bad traffic situations and motivate people to drive drive sensibly and safely and think about others on the road and not cause inconvenience to them just because we are in a hurry or because we don't know proper driving.

It is horrifying to drive in Hyderabad nowadays.

We were planning to have candid cameras at major junctions to capture how people jump lights, drive on wrong side, overtake without proper space,etc...all this right in front of the traffic police. We are trying to collect a group of people, who are interested in this and also have some means of getting a handycam or good resolution digital camera.



It is pathetic that we don't slow down near schools and don't give way for ambulances. We don't help old age pedestrians cross by stopping for a couple of seconds sometimes.



But there may be legal issues in capturing these.May need to go through press. Any ideas? Anybody has any friends or relatives in the media who can help us a little?



We were also planning to make a list of driving rules, common mistakes

and if possible a video on these and take classes at IT institutions and schools.



We are also planning to collect and make a collage of newspaper articles on accidents in the city.
