Indian culture is liberal or not

by vakibs » Thu Apr 26, 2007 11:42 pm

I am seriously ashamed of the current state of affairs in India. What the hell is going on people. I am an Indian living overseas and I just read about the ridiculous arrest warrant being issued to Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty. "Hurting Indian sensibilities" .. Bullshit.

Look at the walls of the temples when you go to pray next time. You will find every posture of sex in lurid detail - including exotic copulations between humans and horses.

We were the country that gave the first textbook of sex to the world. Now this becomes a taboo here !!

Gere is one of the good friends of India. He is a practicing Buddhist and he is very spiritual. These idiots who are protesting don't know the ABCDs of religion. He just gave a peck on the cheek of Shilpa Shetty, nothing overtly sexual. This deserves an arrest !!??

Shame on us, really !!

Please take the poll and give us your thoughts about how liberal Indian culture is, and who deserves to frame the rules about it.

I really feel pity on judges of Jaipur for their knowledge on so-called 'erotic'. We should send them some CD's to increase their GK  . Is putting lips on cheeks known as kiss? Hooooff!! I was thinking otherway friends  .. If this display is erotic and one needs to be arrested for that, I feel all actors/actresses should be arrested for more vulgar display..appropriately public display...afterall cinema is a public display. One side we are talking about preventing AIDS, spreading awareness, otherside we are discussing on trivias like this. Has he kissed on the eve of 'Vijyadashmi'?? Come onnnnnn...we say bindaas bol..condom..and demand for arrest of person doing it in bindaas way. Really shame on us. Sorry Mr. Gere!! You are probably at wrong place :( . Person got kissed has no problem, kisser has no problem..and these ******* are just making issue. WTF? well..the answer is - 'Welcome to India Mr. Gere!!' :? [/quote]
I just wanna live while I'm alive...It's my life!!

Hi,

Actually our ancient culture didn't feel that SEX is an untouchable thing????? :D . If you observe, ancients are more prudent then our naya culturists. Thats why we've the great epic in SEX i.e. Vaatsaayana Kama Sutra. This is world's first book of this kind. No one had such an great epic. If you see Ajantha and Ellora they are based on this only. Now come to the issue, Gere didn't do any wrong. Now a days people are aware of it through internet, movies (take any film in India), in news (like Rakhi sawant issue) etc. so what happened to these naya culturists. if they are doing right means they are distructing our great culture. And one more point is the program is about to aware the people about AIDS. so no prob
