Urdu Board doesn\'t know its language

by Neeraj » Tue Oct 08, 2002 5:49 pm

Members of the Board of Governors of the State Urdu Academy, a body which deals with the promotion of Urdu language, themselves do not know Urdu. Communication to them is through either English or Telugu. This is an autonomous body considered to be the most prestigious institution dealing with the promotion of Urdu. Having a wide network, the Academy teaches Urdu to 5,000 students, and also gives scholarships. However, the Academy\'s own members have failed to promote the language among themselves!!!!!????

Urdu Board doesn\'t know its language

You know, these are the practical things which we can\'t avoid. You know, I searched for Dosa even near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, and got it too. I know some Sardars who search for roti even in the interior villages of South India. So these are human comforts. If they want to spread Urdu, they have to use Telugu and English only. For example, if you want to send a message to Chittoor in South Andhra, you have to use address either in Telugu or English only. Otherwise it will never reach there. So see the purpose - don\'t see the paths. They may be using Telugu intelligently for spreading Urdu.

Neeraj, as Peeping Tom said, they are using Telugu to spread Urdu. Urdu is a very sweet language. Agar aap Urdu padh/bool nahin sakte hain tu aap duniya ki ek behteren naymat se mahrum hain.

Dear all, it is not the question of spreading Urdu through Telugu. The point is that the board memnbers do not know the language - that is the core subject, pls understand. When you need to preach something, you need to know the language at least to communicate... The authority and proof is in yesterday's DC - pls refer it, it is in the front page...
