Necklace Road, does it sevrve it purpose? ...yes!? think agn

by akhilis2cool » Wed Apr 07, 2004 7:35 pm

Dear friends,

Remember why the necklace road was actually built?

It was supposed to reduce the distance between the city and the Begumpet Airport + a tourist attaraction. though it is successful as a tourists attaraction when it comes to using it for going to Begumpet it is the longest possible route as compared to going via Tankbund or Punjagutta, or Somajiguda!!

A lot of money was put into filling up the stretch with mud and then building and decorating the road.

It has turned into a haven for love birds as long stretchs have no lights, and only half of it is useful for the family picnic.

What say?

:?: :?:

i disagree here. i travel between madhapur and secbad daily and in the peak hours esp between 6pm and 8pm, the Banjara hills-Khairatabad-Necklace road route is a blessing for me. tho the distance is abt 3-4 kms more than the punjagutta-begumpet road, i save time, fuel and my sanity on the necklace road route.

anyone from khairatabad or beyond wud be crazy to use the begumpet route in the peak hours to get to secbad, ranigunj or even the airport.

i say..whats wrong in that? lovers of twin cities do need a place to meet

if u had a girlfriend u wudn't say this! its not that lovers can get away with anything here...there are the roving cops to keep an eye on things!

also this stretch is a welcome relief for families on weekends and a good place for events.

now, the only negative offshoot of necklace road is the thriving call-girl racket on the dark stretches!

Well,

i agree the begumpet route is a clumy way to reach the airport.

Lookt at it from the point of view of some one whos coming from liberty x roads side and want to reach begumpet.

I tried it once myself to reach my office at begumpet. it took me about 10-12 minutes longer than the route from tankbund via hotel nest and the minister road. in any case necklace road also connects to the minister road. and after that u agn enter the high traffic zone of begumpet any way.

you hit the nail on its head,

i dont have a girl friend as yet.

but then how good is it for the kids to see the love birds doing things

hey...necklace road is not meant for commuters travelling from liberty to secunderabad! why did u take that route...unless of corz u wanted to sneak a peek at the nestling lovebirds on the way  !!!!

sad. work on rectifying this defect. then u can also see necklace road with new eyes!

doing what "things"...? at the most they hold hands or lean against each other, ie if they r not interrupted by beggars, eunuchs and kids selling flowers, chips n cigarettes! the more daring ones peck each other's cheeks... frankly i havent seen more than this. maybe things happen after dark...!

anyway kids see worse stuff on TV...these "things" on necklace road wud only mildly amuse them. one thing - whether the kids see these "things" or not, they wud make their way there in pairs in a few years time.

dude, Necklace Road is a definite boon to commuters esp. like me who have to get to Sikh Village from Banjara Hills often..

i usually save atleast 10/15 mins.. n petrol n my neck from the traffic/pollution.. the scenery is beautiful, and a camera with a flash will do amazing things to the lovers coochie-cooing there

the worst thing that could happen to a boy who was rejected by a girl is that some where in the future he will meet her on a street and she will tell her kids : "beta mama ko namaste karo!!!!!!!" :(

this is a good time to post abt bechaara Mungeri lal:

Mungerilal, who was very thin and short, was standing at the bus

stop. Suddenly a car stops and a beautiful girl waves her hand

calling him by his name and asking him to sit in her car.

Mungerilal was surprised but recognized her.She was Jasmine, an old

batch-mate but he didn't know why she was calling him because she

never gave him any "lift" in the college. Anyhow he sat in the car

and Jasmine gave him a warm welcome (kaise ho, kya kar rahe ho

etc).

Then she said "Why don't we have coffee together". By now

Mungerilal was even more surprised. He thought "Coffee with Jasmine?

(an old dream...coming true) WOW !!"and he gave his consent. At the

cafe, all of a sudden Jasmine says "Lets go to my house, there are

a lot of people here". Mungerilal is on cloud nine "Ab to mazaa aa

jayega". When they reach home she asks him "Why don't we sit in my

bedroom, you can turn on the AC". Mungerilal was thinking to

himself 'Jasmine phas gai hai' and he starts dreaming about

$#%69^%#. When he enters the bedroom, Jasmine says "Why don't you

take off your shirt, you are sweating". Mungerilal is now 100% sure

of the outcome of this meeting and again starts dreaming. Jasmine

says "Be comfortable and I will be back in a minute".Mungerilal is

alone in the room with his bare match-stick like body and thinking

about Jasmine and @#$!%^. After five minutes Jasmine comes into the

room...........

...with 2 children and says "Dekho bacchon, agar Horlicks nahin

piyoge, to body iske jaise ho jayegi"

BTW i have an observation to make abt the stretch from neckalce road to sanjeeaih park.

the lovers start there romance at sanjeeviah par, fortunately or un fortunately get married, and star ciming to necklace road just after the marriage, and when they have kids...they go to the childrens park (yogi bear put put)......it surely is a stretch for the family for all seasons!!!!

No connection to Necklace road (though was there last night, and coaxed my Dad into letting me drive them all on that stretch....was nice), but was noticing the slight detour the discussion took.....

U think having a gf is a pain? Well surprise, surprise, it works both ways pals. I've seen friends mop about their Bfs. Wouldn't trade places.

Remaining single is hassel-free.

Actually things work best when both sides are friends. That way, there's no 'tension'(Munnabhai effect) and its a clean, healthy equation.

I guess its all abt choosing the right person. `coz ultimately we are talking abt life long partnership. I know some people might say they r doing it for fun and all that, but no one likes to be a use and throw type of person.

for life long bliss choos the correct person.

but that doesnt make the necklace a shorter root to begumpet for people coming from liberty  :?

So, Dosts Azazel and Cool & Deep, better to be Wise than Otherwise, better still, Before rather than After ... Dost A2C has cautioned and made people Wiser ...

One sureshot of this "Necklace" Road is the Fellow ends up tying the three knots around the Neck of some trapping, er Enterprising, Lady ... in fact to be hooked for ever ... Like a Buffalo's being tied a Rope around the Neck and be led around ... Hence it is better called the Neck"Noose" Road, Neck"Lose" or considering the fragrant Environs, the Nose"Close" Road!
