Iraq is sitting on top of the world's second richest oil reserves. But it is not just oil that the US is after. Iraq also happens to be centrally located in the middle east. US presence there means virtual control of the whole of the middle east. And what did Saddam do to deserve this? He did not listen to US dictats and sell his country off, unlike his counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the rest of the Arab world.
