Why there is no FM Radiao

worldspace's been there in hyderabad but it was not released officially into the public like they did in bangalore , chennai and other cities.

may be they wanna gain the publicity back and may be they wanted to start this in a place where there are no FM stations :?:

This is an all fools day joke on us..... eight days too late!

These @#$*#les call that Radio! & to say that ‘it’ is back when all coffee pubs run them whole day since donkeys years now!

Man it's really tough not to curse & express my anguish! - I am with you CTD, I too had dreams for my drives - now they go bust!

Seriously, we need to create a FM lobby group for Hyd - Why on earth is there FM in Hyd, let's understand it first - the possible reasons as I see are;

1. Licensing issues & red-tape in AP (not sure if ‘these’ are non-issues in any other state?)

2. FM companies like Radio City Times etc. consider Hyd uncool & not worth a private FM (if this is true, I am not sure what they saw in Ahmedabad & Indore!)

3. Some godforsaken market research company might have indicated that most Hyderabadies are least influenced by ads on Radio! (After all commercials drive this business as any other media venture)

4. An unseen impenetrable UV shield that covers Hyderabad is blocking the vision of all the private FM channels (may be we have an underground high security defence project going on here)

5. The socio-economic indicators hint that Hyderabad is fast getting back to a stage where the most happening spot used to be the ‘Paradise Tea Corner’

I just don’t understand!...............we HAVE to do something about it!

...the worst for me is that i was hoping to listen to FM in my car, but now its impossible

Murali----There is nothing much we can do.We cant start our own thats for sure....some company like B&C has to come foward.Well 4 years ago when Radio Mirchi first came with their FM group,there was an ad in the paper which listed all the places/cities which were getting Radio Mirchi and there were like 10 cities including Hyderabad.I have been waiting for the past 4 years.I thought it finally came when HP gave the annoucement,then I found out that it was WS.

cant we have a tie-up with radio mirchi and 99fm now? actually, fullhyd can have a tieup with them.. if not fh, there are many other companies but we need an initiative..

I had personally Written about 3 Emails to the Radio City Feedback at

their website at indya.com. All the three times,I've recd the same Email

that I have Posted on the prev Page......

Now I Dunno what More can we Citizens Do.......

hi all,

I am also eagerly waiting for FM radio to be aired in our Hyderabad. After some serious research I came to know that the fee to setup FM radio station is around 10 crores.

can't say that I miss having one Hyd but it would be nice to listen to some good radio whe I finally make it back. maybe XM and sirius will expand to India and China too in the near future...

I am not gifted vocally but I rock out in my head when i drive....esp when doing cross country at 70/80mph on the interstates.

What do you prefer most radio or the cd/tape player?

Well, the best thing abt. radio is that the variety u get is unmatched.

Now that the govt. has introduced some reforms to revitalise the industry we can expect the no. of FM radio stations to go up and Hyd may just get its much deserved FM radio stations very soon.
