Song of the Day

by Lucifer » Sun Jul 03, 2005 9:35 pm

Ever had this fixation with a song or a piece of music that you just had to listen to it over and over again?

I keep having these obsessions every once in a while. And I think it is a chronic problem that I am facing. Not just at home or work, but I hum or listen to the song anywhere. My objects of desire have ranged from the totally gay songs like 'It's Raining Men' to mushy mushy stuff like 'At the Beginning' to heart-broken stuff like 'In these Arms' to sad stuff like 'Hollow Years' to heavy metal like 'Enter Sandman' to feel good tracks like 'Summer of 69'.

My current obsession is a really stupid song by Conway Twitty (I had not even conceived that something like that even existed up until yesterday when I was playing my entire music collection in random mode and this one decided to play) called Con't Cry Joni.

May be we could pen down our songs of the day on this thread.

I have that problem too.

I listen to a song over and over again.

it plays in my head non stop ...right now its scar tissue by red hot chilli peppers

the funny thing is later on when i listen to the same song i remember what i was going through during that time.Like i remember when i joined the forum i was obsessed with vertigo by U2.

I do have this problem, but am thankfully in control of it, and me does not wear my favourite song out.

My sisters used to listen to the same song continiously.

This happened today, a friend of mine started singing "I'm so lonely, I have nobody" and then slapped himself

Happened about two or three times, seems the song is stuck in his head

The Japanese song Suteki Da Ne is such a lovely song that I've listened to it for weeks and months together. I still play it whenever I'm not listening to Yanni, Enya or other favourites of mine.

Last January, I asked one of my former roommates if he wanted to listen to this song and he said "no way" like most Indians do. One day he heard it when I was playing it on my computer, and he got so addicted to it that he downloaded the MP3 and all the 4 or 5 video versions of Suteki Da Ne!!

I had been trying for the original video version for 2 years and couldn't download it myself :D.

Anyway, one and an half years later, this guy still keeps listening to it.
