Constitutional Amendment for Self Defence

by RaghuRam » Sun Mar 03, 2002 12:30 am

Indian constitution, local govt. policies, excessive dependence on state to provide security to minorities has proved its incapability.
Its the time the country\'s constitution need to be amended to allow citizens to have minimum self defence to safe guard there life and property (as in USA). Like guns with rubber bullets to atleast drive/inflict the frenzy mobs. Self Governance to protect the localities should be given to responsible persons?. Police is not better than Thieves/Corrupt legislators.

I completely disagree with both of you.It is not the matter of majority or minority , even people belongs to majority community died in the hands of minority and vice versa. Without guns blah blah, we saw so much of violence. By allowing guns for self defence what difference it will make . what is the guarantee that those are not used for offensive. take example of USA , school shootings,
kids are using those guns to kill
schoolmates. Govt should make very clear laws and equally applicable to all religions, bring common civil code , clear law on building
religious places. religious places
should build only on Govt allotted
sites ,if any thing build on other
places, Govt should demolit. Do not
recognize or allow any Imam or priest give statements against any
other religion , if any , put him/her in jail. No political party allowed to associate it self to any religion or religious oraganisation. These are looks like fantasy, but if we have will and courage , those will become reality ,for that our politicians, religious leaders, and we all agree
for all those things , to live peacefully together.

Silly u all..comparing India with US is like comapring apples with oranges...wake up!! US has all policies and laws in place which are respected by one an all. So it makes sense to have these laws in a place where it is respected. The US police is extremely efficient, their courts are honest. Does India have any of these? Instead of few extremists we will have the whole country with killers. India is full of kaos. Fix the institutions of law and order first before you talk about guns!

Sad to know that there are defense that are illegal, and so with the weapon, they don't allow weapons to use. But we don't have any choice, to use it even if its illegal. We prioritize to have our self defense.
