Look buddy its your friends choice.

A sweeper is a sweeper because, that is what he had to do when he was maybe 4 or 5 yrs old to feed himself, going to school, getting an education was not an option at all!!

Your friend is being exploited of his own free will and choice. A house hold maid is being exploited for one meal a day since early childhood did you get it now??????

Hmmm seems like you exploit your maid or you are around explioted maids. I dont know anyone personally who mistreats her maid.. but i know that kinds are there.

I get your point but what i tried to tell you is that life isnt always fair even if you are educated.:)

Typical example of low acceptability, forcing a flame war. If you accept keep quite.

And those are the kinds this blog is for. Why did you take it personally and bring your friend in etc etc... If you do not thats very good!!

True, but you still have a hope. But you still can aim at getting somewhere.

Whereas these people start of from as early as 5 yrs with complete hopelessness and despair, and generation on continue living that life. If India has to suceed we need to uplift and motivate every individual.

and its each one of our responsibility to do it.

My household help works from 7am till maybe a maximum of 1pm. That's 6 hours a day. Less than what a lot of people I know put up. She is free to take a day off provided she informs us atleast the previous day. Compare this with some offices where you need to apply for leave atleast a week in advance. And the worst part is....they have no intention of getting their kids out of the profession. In my maid's husband's words..."Sahab...padh likhke kaunsa ye bahut kama lene waali hai. Is dhandhe mein jitna paise aayega..utna usko kahin pe bhi nahi milega. Aur waise bhi ye saara paisa iski hi shaadi mein kaam aayega na." I had absolutely no answer to this.

Whats your question. You are portraying exactly what I want to say.

Appears you have not read the blog kaamwali.

Where a mother tries to get her daughters employed ASAP so that they can help themselves and save for their marriages.

She does not even comprehend sending them to school as she knows that it will not help them and that is reality my friend.

You are getting all confused and self contradictory DQ. On one hand you say that education gives you hope; something to cling upon if things are not going right. On the other hand, you say that going to school will not help them and that's reality.

My point was that many domestic helps are earning pretty well. They themselves are forcing their own children into the same careers (a child cannot decide for himself/herself whether to go to school or to go wash utensils at some saheb's place). In this case, they have all resources to send their kids to school and give them a good education. But they themselves choose not to do so as they feel their current occupation to be more rewarding. What can one do about it?

This job is investment free, safe n secure. They think rather than spending a whole lot of money on education they prefer to take the career inherited by their parents. I think thats rite for them. I heard a sayin "Todays 75 paise is more than tomorrows 1 rupee". Aint that true.

As HP said earlier agar in logon ko sar pe cheda doge tho kaan me moothene lagenge. What he said was undoubtedly true. Kuch aisa hi hua tha hamare saath where we had to bring influential ppl into the scene to make them vacate the land which we owned. When asked to vacate they asked us to provide shelter for them cuz they had been here for almost 15 yrs n she was a mail servent in my house.

Oh is it.

Did you read the blog ?

Taras khane ki zaroorat hain Salame, agar in logon ka confidence level nahi build karoge agar inlogo ka socio economic condition nahin badloge to one day due to complete despair and hopelessness they will turn to you. Apna gahr bachana mushkil ho jaayega doosri zameen khali karana to door ki baat.

And by the way, in you example.

You did not say why was someone staying on your land for 15 years ?

WHo gave them permission to stay and that to for 15 years?

Were they paying rent ?

Was it legally your land ? If so in case of arbitration was the court not able to help you ? Why did you NEED TO INVOLVE INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE ?

This was the first blog I ever read in Fullhyd. People talk and support their argument based upon their experiences. Which court r you talking about? hazaron sare cases shayad court mein aaj tak unsuni hai. It would take another 10 yrs to build my house on my own land. Would u provide them the land space for shelter my dear brother if so i treat you as a God gift to this Human Kind.

Bhai agar thum chahte ho aur details doonga. I used to give her 100 bucks from my pocket money without the knowledge of my parents. Thouogh her salary was 150 rs. Apni hi job pati hue thi phir be i took pains to help her. Itni kaafi hai yaa aur examples dooo?

About treating what you said is true. Magar zaayada sar pe chedane ki zaroorath nahi hai..

Exactly my friend, zayada sar pe kisi ko nahi chadana chahiye.

Exactly why asked you the question, who gave someone the right to stay 15 years on your land.

Every individual should know how to protect his/her own right, and also not to abuse others rights.

Now in this instance I see that you let someone live on your land because maybe you wanted security for the land, needed to show the govt occupancy etc. and if this was the case you should have paid them for those services as well.

If it was compassion I would say that you were crazy to let 15 years pass in compassion?

And finally you paid Rs150 per day or mo and for what services?

And hey, I read these bolded statements somewhere else ;)
