by Aishwarya » Sat May 27, 2006 8:10 pm

A person I know sent me this link on adult indigos and told me that I was like that 8)

When I read through the whole thing myself, I felt that that was so true about me. There is a term for a weirdo like me!!! Except for crying at the drop of my hat and feeling depressed during my adoloscent years and having problems with temper ( I do have but certianly not the way it is described!) evrything else is so true about me. (I am def NOT the ones in bold!)

I just wanted to know how many of you feel that you are like that. Here is the content from the link:

i have a little bit of the characteristics that u mentioned. i mean i always believed in the equality of sexes as well as castes. i always wanted to prove my point. i was a complete tom boy during teenage. when i started working my boss always told me that there are two things one is need to know and one is nice to know. i always focused on the nice to know aspect. i started my job as a trainer right after my graduation which does require some sort of experience and i always felt that i could add some kind of quality to the work i do. there was a point in life that i felt that i am drained out i mean i was good compared to my classmates and when the real time came they got into good colleges i was really very angry with the system and did continue with my masters in my favorite subject and started my career in a completely different field. i sometimes thought why me god why me? then i would reconcile that may be this was there in my destiny. there are times wheni think this is the end of the road for me and there are times when i have impossible possible. i have mood swings ranging from severe depression to feeling absolutely eclectic.
how happy is he born and free,
who serveth not anothers will,
whose armour is his honest thought and,
simple truth his utmost skill..........

From the characteristics posted I can identify with a few. But only a few, there are too many mentioned, which increases the possibility of one identifying with them.

Some are outright stupid, like the electricity one. And this is just a fad, I remember when I was in India there used to be ads for Type A person preferable, it was something like Type A persons are very calm and collected and Type Bs are edgy and a whole list like that.

Similar to Astrology I say, you can group a certain kind of people as having leadership qualities or not, but cannot give them a name like Indigo.
Kuch to bhi kare tho, Kya to bhi hota.

I've marked the parts that don't apply to me in bold.

Are intelligent, though may not have had top grades.

Are very creative and enjoy making things.

Always need to know WHY, especially why they are being asked to do something.

Had disgust and perhaps loathing for much of the required and repetitious work in school.

Were rebellious in school in that they refused to do homework and rejected authority of teachers, OR seriously wanted to rebel, but didn't DARE, usually due to parental pressure. - I rebelled gloriously at each stage in my life.

May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult. - Sadness....yes...a lot of times...but nothing beyond that.

Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs. Indigos resist authority and caste system of employment.

Prefer leadership positions or working alone to team positions.

Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.

May be extremely emotionally sensitive including crying at the drop of a hat (no shielding) Or may be the opposite and show no expression of emotion (full shielding). - I don't usually cry at the drop of a hat - maybe the social conditioning of men don't cry, but there have been times when I've completely let my tear glands take over me.

May have trouble with RAGE. - The countless pieces of furniture and the mobile handsets I've smashed are proof of this.

Have trouble with systems they consider broken or ineffective, ie. political, educational, medical, and legal.

Alienation from or anger with politics - feeling your voice won't count and/or that the outcome really doesn't mattter. - I tend to be towards the anger side of the spectrum[i].

Frustration with or rejection of the traditional American dream - 9-5 career, marriage, 2.5 children, house with white picket fence, etc. - [i]Will never forget my parents lecturing me that business is not meant for the likes of us and that we should be content with a 9-5 job and the works. Me being the entrepreneur I am, always rebelled.

Anger at rights being taken away, fear and/or fury at "Big Brother watching you."

Have a burning desire to do something to change and improve the world. May be stymied what to do. May have trouble identifying their path.

Have psychic or spiritual interest appear fairly young - in or before teen years.

Had few if any Indigo role models. Having had some doesn't mean you're not an indigo, though. - [i]Dunno if Dhirubhai Ambani or Al Ries are Adult Indigos, but they happen to be my role models.

Have strong intuition.

Random behavior pattern or mind style - (symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder). May have trouble focusing on assigned tasks, may jump around in conversations.

Have had psychic experiences, such as premonitions, seeing angels or ghosts, out of body experiences, hearing voices.

May be electrically sensitive such as watches not working and street lights going out as you move under them, electrical equipment malfunctioning and lights blowing out. - [i]I've had my fair share of electric shocks and as for watches, if one sticks on my wrist for a year, its a nobel prize winning achievement.

May have awareness of other dimensions and parallel realities.

Sexually are very expressive and inventive OR may reject sexuality in boredom or with intention of achieving higher spiritual connection. May explore alternative types of sexuality. - [i]I'm very conventional in matters amorous, though extremely expressive.

Seek meaning to their life and understanding about the world May seek this through religion or spirituality, spiritual groups and books, self-help groups and books.

When they find balance they may become very strong, healthy, happy individuals.

I was researching on this subject and I can see that this concept is being extended into an alternate healing method too. Somehow couldn't digest that. How can a person with certain social, physical and emotional qualities automatically become a healer?

After I did some R&D on that. i felt a lil weird too.. I never actually unerstood the concept of healer. I think everything else is right about me. Now the question is, what do I do with that information!
