Raymonds tomb. He is my g/g grandfather

by muskrat » Sun Aug 15, 2004 4:54 pm

Hi guys, I tried to find some info on my g/g grandfather 'Michel Raymond' online but cant find much. Can you direct me how I can get some info on him please like articles etc. I guess most is pretty much ancient history now tho. Dr H Rajendra Prasad did a lecture on him at the museum about a year ago, here is the link.

WOW! u really are the grandchild of Monsieur Raymond...?????

i have only read abt him in various articles and i have played near his tomb in my childhood. its near the malakpet area on a hill behind the TV Tower. I used to stay in a housing colony on the other side.

i heard recently that the Govt. is thinking of renovating the "gun-foundry" he found and turn it into a tourist site.

if u come down to hydbad u might be able to find more info on him...

and like Malakpetmasala said a locality in hyderabad is named after your grandfather - Moosarambagh. Moosaram is a local pronunciation of Monsieur Raymond

Wow, well I am a decendant of William, Michel's brother. Very Happy So nice to meet you! I tried to PM, but it just keeps sending me to the msg boards.

:D I am guessing it didn't go so well then? :) What sort of script where you writing?

Any chance you live near there now? Or have a digital camera? I'd love some photos, if anyone out there has the means!! :) The ones of the net are ok, but knowing the photo was taken for you rocks!! :D

Muskrat: I just came across this blog as I too was trying to find out more about Raymond. I'm pretty surprised that I can't find much about him, especially about his personal life, considering that he is greatly admired. So I was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions--Whom and where did he marry? How did they meet? Did their relationship affect his work? Also, were his children raised in Hyderabad?
