Pissed off with ICICI.

by ICICI Bank - Irresponsible. » Tue Feb 10, 2004 6:32 pm

This is my exp with ICICI, I have been deducted Rs. 500/- for not maintaining a quarterly balanace it seems.

facts are:

1. I believe i had a zero balance account with icici.

2. They have all my phone numbers, email ids, my height, weight, ***length with them. But, they have not given any notice to me before they deduct.

3. But they will send all spam icici services, products to my mail id.

Fortunate to ICICI, i am in uk now, not in hydbad to kick that manager.

is that the way ICICI is working, deducting money according to their rules, without even noticing to customers.

I suggest, not good to have any account with these bullshit banks. When they need account they run after public like dogs, after having good business they will become irresponsible.

If any employees in this discussion boarad may excuse me, but try to improve your banks process.

I donot hold an account with ICICI, but from what you have posted I can say that ICICI hasnt done anything wrong.

Problem 1: Its your mistake to ASSUME that there is no minimum balance. Yopu should have checked with the bak about minimum balance before you opened the account.

Problem 2: Banks donot notify their customers about fines etc. They are normally added to the account. Its your responsibilty to maintain minimum balance. A bank like ICICI will have 100' of thousands customers and they cant check each and every persons personal accounts for balances. And its not legal too.

Problem 3: Again, bank email servies are automated services. You can choose not to recieve emails from the bank.

The above is just my pov and I am 99% sure that, thats how normal banks work.

I kinda agree - not with the spirit, but with the legalities. I do all my banking with Citibank, and they don't tell me when they are screwing me. Recently I withdrew Rs. 100 using my credit card since I despoly needed some small cash, and they added a Rs. 150 service charge to it. I gave up. They said it was written in the fine print somewhere in the 2 million mails they send me every month. If they were really customer friendly, they would've displayed a message on the ATM saying that the service charge would be this, do I want to continue. But, ah, at Citi money lives and customers die.

Dont you think you are a bit too demanding? It is common knowledge that cash advances carry a charge. And ATM's are designed to disburse money quickly. If they start giving warnings and notices before you withdraw cash, the whole purpose is defeated. You can as well go the bank and withdraw cash.

Mayavi,

What you said by book is correct. I agree. another example just for all of your info.

I have sent a request thru courier for internet banking from UK. I have not received any upate for 2 weeks, then i've given a call to find out with Hitech city branch, ICICI. You know the reply....They got the form, but they lost it somewhere. Cannot able to trace out. Send another of Fax another.....:-))))

F**k that kind of organization man. Why the hell they should trouble the customers if they cannot maintain properly.....
